Cards Defeat Raiders Before Lighting Delay

“They played a close game last night and was proud of the boys to come through with the win,” stated head coach Mark Wylie. The first half of the game went slow with Tamaqua having 12 shots on goal and Pine Grove having 18 shots on goal. Pine Grove had 2 goal kicks while Tamaqua had 4 goal kicks. There was a total of 5 direct kicks by Tamaqua and Pine Grove combined. There was only 1 corner kick in the entire first half, that was taken by Pine Grove. Tamaqua had 4 stops by their goalkeeper while Pine Grove had 2 by their goalkeeper. By the end of the first half, the score was 0-0.

 

In the second half of the game,  Pine Grove had a few more shots on goal then Tamaqua. Pine Grove had 16 while Tamaqua had 8. Pine Grove has 4 direct kicks while Tamaqua only had 1. Then within 10 minutes and 5 seconds of the start of the second half Pine Groves’ #9 Ethan Hannevig scores with #11, Mitchell Lesh having an amazing assist. Pine Grove had 2 stops by the keeper in the second half while Tamaqua had 4 stops by the keeper. Both Tamaqua and Pine Grove had 1 goal kick. Then with 19 minutes and 20 seconds left to go, the game was suspended for a lighting delay.

 

In the end, they didn’t finish the game but Pine Grove got the win against Tamaqua. The final score was Pine Grove 1, Tamaqua 0.
