“We pulled through tonight and I was very proud of the team. They played a great game against Pottsville and they keep trying to improve. “ stated head coach Mark Wylie. In the first half, there wasn’t much action. There were 15 shots on goal by Pine Grove and 17 shots on goal by Pottsville. Pine Grove had 4 direct kicks, 5 goal kicks, and 2 corner kicks. Pottsville had 5 direct kicks, 3 goal kicks, and 2 corner kicks. With 3 minutes and 47 seconds left in the game, Pottsville scored making the score 1-0 Pottsville once they made their penalty kick in the goal. Pine Grove had 8 stops by the goalkeeper while Pottsville had 6 stops by the goalkeeper. At the end of the first half, the score was 1-0 with Pottsville winning.

In the second half, there were 22 shots on goal by Pine Grove and 26 shots on goal by Pottsville. Pine Grove had only 4 direct kicks while Pottsville had 6 direct kicks. Then, 10 minutes and 22 seconds into the game, Pine Grove’s #7 Bryce Weber scores making the score 1-1. Pine Grove had 6 goal kicks while Pottsville had 7 goal kicks. Then, with 16 minutes and 39 seconds left in the game, Pine Grove’s #11 Mitchell Lesh scores making the score 2-1 Pine Grove. Then 11 seconds pass and Pottsville scores making the score now 2-2. Pottsville had 1 corner kick while Pine Grove had 4 and with the last corner kick of the game, Pine Grove’s #13 Cody Griffthes scores with less than 2 minutes left. That goal was the winning goal of the game.

In the end, both teams played a great game but Pine Grove came out on top. The final score was Pine Grove 3, Pottsville 2.
