Lady Cards Take on Panthers

*Varsity girls came in strong and kept the strength throughout the entire game. At the beginning of the first quarter, junior Abbie Brown won the tip off. The Lady Cards took the lead at the beginning of the first quarter. The first quarter ended with a score of Pine Grove 9, Schuylkill Valley Panthers 5.

In the second quarter, the girls didn’t waste any time to getting the ball. They worked well together. The girls used great team work while playing the game. The game got very competitive towards the end. The girls kept their heads up and took coach Bill Evans’ advice, “Time is on our side.’’  He continued this advice throughout the whole game. The girls took his advice and pulled through the game very strong. With Pine Grove still leading in the second and third quarters, they go in to the fourth quarter with a score of 38-35.

In the end, the Lady Cards kept their lead and won the game with a score of 54-41. “I think that the girls played well and made some really good passes. I think they worked very well together. All the hard work they do at practice definitely pays off, ” said Bailley Dorson, freshman .  Pine Grove takes on Minersville Thursday at home.
