Eugene Krietzer will be Pine Grove Area’s newest agricultural teacher. Krietzer will take over the AG  classes: forestry, horticulture, and also small animal science. Unfortunately, Pine Grove Area High School will not be able to benefit from Mr. Krietzer’s knowledge of the agricultural arts just yet, mid-October to be exact. “I just like the diversity of it, it’s not the same thing day in, day out, and agriculture covers so many different topics,” said Krietzer.

Krietzer has been teaching for many years and taught at Tulpehocken High School for the last eight years.  “I primarily taught the agricultural mechanics courses and horticulture, but last year I started teaching all of the AG classes offered at Tulpehocken.” Mr. Krietzer didn’t always want to teach.  “At first I didn’t really want to be a teacher, but then I coached and had student athlete interactions and thought, why not give it a try?”

Coming to Pine Grove was a simple choice for Mr. Krietzer, “ I’m familiar with Pine Grove Area from coaching here and I thought it would be nice to be able to teach here as well as coach.”  Not only will Mr. Krietzer be a teacher, but has taken a position on the Lady Cards Volleyball team as an Assistant Coach. Coach Krietzer stated, “I think we have a lot of potential and it will be interesting to see how the season works out.”

Krietzer had become interested in volleyball many years ago and began coaching back 20 years.  His first coaching job was at Lebanon Catholic which he helped to coach the junior high girls volleyball team.
