“I knew it was coming but I didn’t know it would still be this awesome,” says Dillon Kintzel, a senior four year varsity wrestler.   Kintzel eclipsed his 100th win last night in a relatively easy match. Dillon will be recognized this Wednesday during the team’s home match against Blue Mountain. Dillon says he knew he was going to notch 100 wins this year and he didn’t think it would be as cool but when his arm was raised up and he could see his family cheering it was all as exciting as it was meant to be.

Dillon started wrestling at the age of 5 when he was wrestling in a biddy system where everyone just wrestled for fun and to learn the proper moves and techniques. Until the age of 8,  Dillon didn’t wrestle for the school. Kintzel said “Man I hated going to wrestling because I was so little and I would lose. But, when I was about 10, I started to listen to my dad and all the trophies started coming in.”

When asked who he credits his success to he said, “My parents. My dad taught me everything and was always on the mat with me. My mom pushed me to keep going and working hard each and every day.”
