“Cars and trucks always need to work so that’s what I do,” says Dennis Hatter, owner of Hatter’s Auto Body. He has owned this business for a long time and he dedicates everything to it. Working at the garage is not only a good job, but you also learn new things about how to keep cars running safely.  

I go to the garage as much as I can to help out wherever I can.   Ever since I was little I have been going to my Pap’s garage. After helping him for so long I have learned that I want to own my own business. Although the only way for that to happen is for me to keep learning about cars and trucks. While I’m at the garage, I help by taking tires off and putting them on. I am able to help strip the old paint off cars and sand them  down only to re-paint them. I help my Gram with paperwork and I help her get parts from other auto parts store. All of these tasks enable me to prepare for the future.

One day, I want to start a business of my own and the only way for that to happen is to keep on working to achieve my goals. After being in a family of auto workers for so long, I know what I want to do. I tried to go to vo-tech,  but it didn’t work out. So I will just keep working in the garage helping my own family which will help me figure out what I want to do next.
