Apple Releases New Phones

Lindsey Kemmerling, Staffer

Fall Keynote: the day of the year every Apple fan looks forward. At the Fall Keynote, Apple announces the new phones for the year, any new iPads or Watches and new software.

This year’s Fall Keynote took place on Friday, September 21. Apple announced three new phones: the iPhone XS, the iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR — as well as new colors. The rest was software such as iOS 12 and WatchOS 5. Each new phone has a different price point, and its own pros and cons.

I am pretty excited about the release of the new gold color which looks gorgeous with the new stainless steel border. My personal experience with the iPhone XS has been pretty positive but I am aware there are a few problems with the new phone. One bug reported with the phone is that the phone doesn’t charge while in sleep mode. Another bug involves iMessage confusing contacts, which may result in you accidentally sending a text to the wrong person. As for the camera, I am absolutely in love with it. It is so clear and a huge update from my iPhone 7 camera. I used to use my Snapchat app more than my actual camera but I have recently found myself using my new camera as much as I can. As for the battery, I see a slight change from the iPhone 7 I previously owned, but not too much of a difference.

So, are all these changes worth the price tag of $999-$1,349.00? In my opinion, it could be depending on the person buying it. It depends on what things are important to you when it comes to a phone. I believe this has the potential to be a great phone but it shall be unknown until it is released.

All in all, the release of new iPhones this year was all what everyone was talking about when it comes to phones! I can’t wait to see what is to come for the new phones in the future.
