Ultraviolent, a band of four in our very own backyard, has released a music video to follow their newest song, “Insult to Injury.” The band consists of PGA alumni and current student: Brandon Babcock, Avery LeVan, Brett Anspach, and Kyle Brown. Each member expressed their love for the band and all four of them plan to stick with the band as long as possible. “There was never a ‘Hey! Let’s start a band’ moment. It just kind of happened,” says Brett Anspach. The band started on a whim as did the name. Moments before their first show, the group got together and chose a name of a list previously written and that’s how the name, Ultraviolent, came to be. Brandon said “…Brett and Avery were the only two other musicians in town that worked on creating their own music, so when they asked me to be a part of it I jumped on board with them immediately,” when asked about what prompted his involvement with the band.

The new music video, directed by Eric DiCarlo, was shot at the Pine Grove Movie Theatre and took only 7 hours to complete the filming. The editing and the finalizing of the video took a few more weeks.

“We are constantly growing and getting more opportunities in this band, and we are definitely experiencing degrees of success that ensure that we are capable of survival, and aren’t just another band that will fall apart on a whim. We’ve outlasted many bands in our scene and proved that we are sturdy and capable of withstanding the tests of this highly competitive industry,” Avery LeVan says. The band is planning to release a full album, “Eviction,” in 2019. They are also hoping to get on the radio station, “105.7 the X,” during the time in which they play songs from local bands.
