March 2021 Senior of the Month, Damion Williams.

McKenna Valentine and Brandon Unger

Each Senior of the Month was asked 10 questions…

1.How do you feel about being a senior?

-Being a senior doesn’t feel much different than being a junior, sophomore, or freshman. Of course I know I have changed and matured, but the main difference is that I am more experienced in this environment

2.How do you feel about last year being hybrid?

-I’m actually very disappointed about the hybrid year— I’m a very social person and only seeing half of my friends was awful— it made it difficult to coordinate and make plans outside of school because when I wasn’t at school, they were

3.How do you feel about being senior of the month?

-Senior of the Month is no big deal in my honest opinion. It’s nice knowing a teacher nominated me, however the only real benefit is the closer parking spot

4.Favorite and least favorite thing about being a senior during covid?

-My least favorite thing is the lack of events that would normally occur in a school year. We missed Semi and Homecoming, to name the biggest things. The best thing would be the fact that accomplishments feel bigger, like the halloween parades with JROTC.

5.What do you want to do after you graduate?

-After I graduate I will be attending Penn State Schuylkill for two years studying psychology, then transfer to main campus, continuing with psychology, and doing ROTC in college and commissioning into the Army as an Officer.

6.What piece of advice would you give to underclassmen?

-Stay motivated, and keep momentum. It’s hard to get into a flow, so keep the energy going

7. If you play sports or do any other activities how were they affected with covid?

-My junior season of Track & Field was cut off after the first two or so weeks. I missed a year of developing form and improving my javelin throwing technique.

8.What is your favorite memory from senior year so far?

-Walking on the frozen lake with Ethan and McKoy

9.What is your favorite thing to do outside of school?

-I like to hang out with my friends, and drive around with them.

10.Who is someone you look up to?

-I look up to Thomas Rohler, the Olympic Javelin Gold Medalists. I want to achieve greatness like he has.
