Devin Artz, Staffer

“I wanted the opportunity to work with some of my former teachers and influence the lives of Pine Grove Area students like my former teachers did for me,” stated Jen Heming.  Mrs. Heming, a Class of 2000 alumna, has come home.

“Mr.Gibson, Mr. Wessner, Mrs. Klinger, Mr. and Mrs. Fennelly, Mr. Nickel, and Ms. Wagner… They cared about me academically and personally, they always took the extra step to care about me outside the classroom,” stated Heming.

Heming attended Kutztown University for her bachelor’s degree and then went to Wilkes University to obtain her master’s degree.  She student taught at Schuylkill Haven High School. Shortly thereafter she was hired at Mahanoy Area where she taught 7th and 8th grade English and Language Arts for 14 years.

Mrs. Heming is enjoying being back in her hometown, calling former teachers colleagues  and being close to her childhood friends. She is impressed with her students. Mrs. Heming is planning on staying in Pine Grove Area teaching for as long as she can and is looking forward to seeing the students here progress and see where they go in their lives.
