Lady Cardinals fell short in a 2-1 loss to Notre Dame East Stroudsburg. “The girls played well but they weren’t shooting enough,” said Coach Town. The first half was very close though Pine Grove Area was on the attack for a large portion of the half. Even though the girls were on the attack they could not find the back of the net and eventually conceded to Notre Dame. For the rest of the first half not much happened and Pine Grove ended the half down by one.

The second half was a different story, with the Cardinals finally finding some form. The girls kept on attacking and they finally got the goal they were looking for with #4 Abigail Frew finding the back of the net with a fantastic chip over the keeper to finally tie up the game. It seemed like the Cardinals could finally come back to win the game, but sadly they weren’t able to score after that. The Spartans took advantage of the lack of finishing and answered back with a goal late in the second half of the game to beat out the opposition. The game ended with the score unchanged at 2-1.

The game overall was a close suspenseful game with both teams pouring their hearts out trying to get the victory. After the game Coach Town was asked how the team is going to move forward, “We are going to have to practice shooting more in games and in practice.”
