PGA Cards shined brightly Saturday night when they took on the Susquenita Blackhawks during the Homecoming football game. The Cardinals started off strong when they got the first touchdown of the game with 7:40 left in the first quarter. The touchdown was scored by Dalton Kintzel, who then ran the ball for the two point conversion, making the score 8-0. Not long after Dalton Kintzel got another touchdown for the PGA Cards around 1:50 left, and the first quarter ended 14-0 with the Cards up. “Our team played really hard Saturday night for our homecoming,” Dalton Kintzel said.

The second quarter started off with a bang when Colin Luckenbill got an early touchdown, making the lead against the Blackhawks even greater, and with Dawson Ibarra catching the two point conversion the Cardinals took a 22-0 lead. At this point in the game the Cards had control but the Blackhawks got a burst of energy and got a touchdown of their own with around 9:30 left in the second quarter, along with a field goal that was good, the score at the end of the second quarter was 22-7 with the Cardinals winning.

The second half of the game was scoreless, the third and fourth quarter, was mainly played in the middle of the field. Both teams didn’t let each other score at all in the second half. Inside linebacker for the Cardinals, Devin Artz said, “Their defense came out to play in the second half and stopped our offense, but our defense stayed tough and didn’t allow them to score.” When asked about the second half of the game, Andrew Griffiths, a wide receiver on the Cardinals, said, “We controlled the pace of the game, we kept running the ball to milk the clock.” And the Cardinals did “milk” the clock and won the game 22-7 against the Blackhawks making it a successful Homecoming for the Cards.
