Lady Cards Defeat Lady Indians

It was the first home soccer game for the Lady Cardinals and they opened up the 2019 season with a win against Lehighton. The game lead off with  multiple shots by Pine Grove. Six minutes in the game, Mia Jefferson had a shot that missed high which led a goal kick for Lehighton. The Lehighton goalkeeper saved shots by Gabi Miller and Kira Shollenberger, until the 21st minute when Mel Love scored the first goal of the game. There was a sub in after the goal. 

The second half started off with multiple corner kicks by Nia Bronson. More substit came in after he corner kicks. Mckenna Levan saved all the shots she faced throughout the game, counting 6 in the second half. Mel Loved scored after one of the saves by Mckenna Levan in the 28th minute in the second half, for her second of the game. Two penalties followed for Pine Grove by 2 substitutes of Sarah Warner and Madi Betz. 

After the game, Mel Love said “I wasn’t thinking of anything, I was just focused on scoring.” Love scored both goals for the Lady Cardinals. In all, the Lady Cards had 13 shots on goal. Mckenna Levan had a total of 12 saves. The Lady Cards had a total of five corner kicks. The Lady Cards defeated the Lady Indians 2-0.
