Cardinals Win Key Victory Over Line Mountain

The Pine Grove Cardinals matched up against Line Mountain on Friday, October 11th. The Cardinals are coming off a win on last Friday against Williams Valley. In the start of the game, Cardinals receive the ball. In the first quarter, Josh Leininger started as the starting quarterback for the Cardinals. Dalton Kintzel opened up the game by scoring the first touchdown for the Cardinals. Shea Morgan kicked the extra point to take a 7-0 lead. Cardinals defense struggled against Eagles offense. The Eagles were moving the ball and scored a touchdown but missed the extra point, giving the Cardinals a 1-point lead at the end of the first half. Cardinals went into halftime with a 7-6 lead of the Eagles.

In the third quarter, the Cardinals couldn’t find a way to score against the Eagles. Dalton Kintzel and Colin Luckenbill help the Cardinals gain yards on the ground. In the start of the 4th quarter, Line Mountain ran the ball but Brody Robinson made a huge stop resulting in a loss of yards. Then, the Cardinals defense stop the Eagles on 4th down, giving the Cardinals back the ball. 1st and 10 on the Cardinals 3 yard line, with the score still 7-6 Pine Grove leading by 1-point, the Cardinals needed to score again to secure the victory. After moving the ball down the field, Dalton Kintzel ran in to score a touchdown. The Cardinals made the extra point and extended the lead to 14-6. Cardinals up 14-6 in the 4th quarter with 5:00 minutes left, the defense shut Line Mountain’s offense from scoring a touchdown.The Cardinals ended the game by taking a few knees to secure the victory. Dalton Kintzel lead the team with 2 touchdowns to help the Cardinals win 14-7. Now, Pine Grove advances to a record of 7-1, coming off the win.
