“It was a team win tonight. Everyone did what coach wanted us to do tonight. The game plan was to close the first five yards a space down from the other team so they couldn’t string any balls through,” says Mitchell Lesh, Junior Captain of the team. He scored the only goal of the night. The boys struggled to get a goal throughout the game, but Dennis Kull, #7, assisted with a great throw-in to Lesh who got the ball into the back of the net with a one time touch.

The teams were evenly matched but the Cardinals had possession with the ball most of the game. With 10 minutes left of the first half, Cameron Raudabaugh, #9, had a shot on net but missed. With the last 5 minutes left of the first half, Lesh had a shot on net but was saved by the Raiders goalie. The score was 0-0 at half. The Cardinals come out in the second half with a shot reflected off the goal post by Gary Townsend, #15. Raiders had two shots on net but both were saved by Elijah Hoover, #90.

“We all played really well today. Still a lot of things we could work on and be calmer towards the end of the game but overall it was a great game and happy to win,” says Cameron Raudabaugh, the Senior Captain. Raudabaugh controlled most of the center field throughout the entire game, shutting down the Raiders’ midfielders when needed.
