1917: Movie Review

The Movie 1917 is about two wold war 1 soldiers.

1917 is an action and drama movie based on two British soldiers stuck in the middle of  World War I — Lance Cpl. Schofeild and Lance Cpl. Blake, who are given nearly impossible orders.  Schofeild and Blake must cross into enemy territory in a race against time to deliver a message that could save 1,600 of their fellow comrades. This movie does sound very similar to “Saving Private Ryan” which was based during World War II. However, 1917 is different than most movies of its kind in the fact it’s filmed in 1-shot style. This makes the whole movie look like one contueous shot.

1917 really makes you feel like you are right in the middle of a battlefield in WW1. World War 1 is usually shadowed by World War II, so a movie like 1917 is awesome to see. The way the movie is shot also makes you feel like you’re right there following Schofeild and Blake.  My favorite scene in the movie is when Schofeild and Blake are in the abandoned German trench. This Scene is my favorite because it builds so much suspense; you never know if an enemy is going to be around the next corner.

This movie however, is definitely not a family movie. 1917 is rated R, and for good reason. There are several profane lines and adult references throughout the movie. All of this is definitely expected in any war movie, and it all adds more realism. In conclusion, 1917 is one of the best war movies I’ve ever seen, and one that makes you feel like you are right there in the battlefield.
