I started working at Kauffman’s BBQ Chicken in May of 2017. I mainly work in the  take out and ice cream sections of the restaurant. So when you order takeout you take orders at the window and go back and make them.

Kauffman’s BBQ Chicken isn’t like your typical restaurant. The restaurant is set up as cafeteria style. When you go in you will get a tray and go to the servers area. That is where you order your food. Even though it is Kauffman’s BBQ Chicken we don’t just have chicken. You can get anything from chicken to even fish. Believe it or not, we make all the chicken fresh right in the restaurant. When you first walk into the restaurant, you can actually see all the chicken being made. When I first started working there, I had the mindset that I wouldn’t be good at it. I was not that sociable and was just nervous. The longer you work there the more relationships you form with the customers. You have your customers that come weekly or even customers that are there for the first time. It is a great feeling when customers start to learn your name or when you can make them feel good by remembering their orders. Our customers are our number one and that is all we care about. When you come to Kauffman’s as a customer, you never know who you will see that you know.

When you do the kitchen job you’re also busy. That is when the job is the best. I personally like when there is a rush because then you aren’t just standing around. The weekends are when it’s the busiest time,but when you’re in kitchen, you must be very clean. We are always cleaning and trying to keep everything organized. Now when you’re working with a bunch of people you tend to become friends. Well just about everyone I work with I am friends with.. But honestly it’s one of the best places to work and a great place to eat.
