The Lady Cards started off slow and Tamaqua took advantage of it shooting two threes right away gaining a six to zero lead. They continued taking advantage of the Cardinals slow start gaining a seventeen point lead as the Cards picked up foul after foul. The Cards finally score a point off of a free throw. The Cards finally start to slow Tamaqua down but still can’t seem to put any scoring of their own together only gaining four points as Tamaqua gained more points keeping the lead they built up. The Cards started to figure out Tamaqua in the third. Mikaili Donmoyer got a steal and took it all the way and scored on a layup but Tamaqua came right back with one of their own. The Cards shots were starting to go in as they hit a big three followed by another from Donmoyer. Tamaqua comes back with two. Kira Shollenberger makes a free throw making the score twenty-three to thirty-four. Mikaili scored on another breakaway, followed by a Cardinal three to bring them back into the game at twenty-nine to thirty four. But Tamaqua went on a quick scoring streak for six points gaining their big lead back. But the Cards weren’t done yet as Kira Shollenberger hit a mid range shot and Lindsey Wolff scored a layup bringing the score to thirty-three to thirty-eight. Finally, with limited time fouls killed the Cards hopes as Tamaqua couldn’t seem to miss. The Final score was 36 to 47.

After the game Mikaili had this to say, “We need to be able to start the game with the same energy and drive that we have during the third and fourth quarters. We just need to use this loss as motivation for the next game and find ourselves earlier than the second half.” Shollenberger ,senior, had a similar opinion about the start of the game saying, “I think we need to come out faster in the first quarter. We are having trouble getting into the game and having that energy from the start and it really hurts us…. We come out slow so we don’t move on offense as well as we should and it causes turnovers and some bad shots. I think a lot of it is just a lack of hustle from the start.”
