Aspiring To Be A Health Professional

Hannah Reiter states, “I plan to become a nurse. I’ve been interested in the medical field since my junior year.”  Reiter enrolled in the Aspiring Health Professionals program offered to 12th grade students from Schuylkill County. This program was created for seniors thinking or wanting to join the medical field. She says, “Taking this program gave me a jumpstart on my college classes and it also helped me be sure I wanted to be a nurse.”

To get into this program you need a 3.0 GPA or higher and a 3.0 GPA in their high school biology and chemistry classes. This program covers many careers in the medical field, Hannah says, “This program covers physical therapy, speech pathology, and doctor.” She believes this program will help her in the medical field, “I got experience that most students didn’t and gave me a advantage.”

This program obtains 8 college credits by the end of the program. Hannah thinks this program was worth it she says, “It will benefit me in the long run but I missed some of my high school activities.” She says, “I had to take time to study and I wasn’t used to that.”
