Lady Cards Defeat Lourdes

The Pine Grove Lady Cards faced Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School. As the Cards looked to extend their winning streak, Olivia Lehman was the starting pitcher for Pine Grove.”Being the starting pitcher gives me a chance to play at the best of my ability and help my team compete against other teams,” said Olivia Lehman. The first batter of the game had grounded out to Abbie Keiser at second base. The following batter had also grounded out to Keiser. Olivia Lehman had struck out the following batter to end the top of the first inning. The first batter for Pine Grove was Kate Rittenbaugh. Rittenbaugh had bunted for a single. Rittenbaugh stole second but the throw was overthrown and Rittenbaugh had stole second and home to score. Trisha Kopinetz had been walked. Maura Lehman has come in to pinch run for Kopinetz. Maura Lehman stoke second but again the throw was overthrown and she stole third and home to score. Olivia Lehman was also walked, while Kamryn Stine came into pinch run. Stone stole third during Avery Nagle’’s at bat. Nagle had hit a single behind second base. Kershener hit a ground ball past the second baseman for a single, Stine and Nagle had both scored on Kershener’s hit. Kershener stole second but was also overthrown.Kershener both scored off the overthrow. Amanda Schaeffer has struck out for the first out of the inning. Katrina Heister then followed with a pop out to the pitcher. Abbie Keiser struck out to end the inning. Lady Cards lead Lourdes 5-0 at the end of the first inning.

The Lady Cards started off the inning with Olivia Strikes out the first two batters. The next batter grounded out to Keiser at second base for the third out. As the Lady Cards begin to bat Izzy Turned has gotten walked. Rittenbaugh had grounded to second but out ran the throw for a hit. Kopinetz had a hit up the middle for a single to score Turner and Rittenbaugh. Maura Lehman has pinch ran for Kopinetz and stole second. Olivia Lehman has grounded out to the second base man but Maura has advanced to third. Nagle hit the ball to left field for a double scoring Maura. Kershener then hit the ball past the third baseman for a single scoring Nagle. Schaeffer then hit a single to left field for a single while Kershner advanced to second. Heister then popped out to the pitcher. Keiser then got walked. Turner got an infield hit scoring Kershener. Rittenbaugh popped out to end the inning with a score of 10-0 Lady Cards leading over Lourdes. As the Cards take the field, Megan Wolfe was the next pitcher. Wolfe struck out the first batter. The next batter hit a single into center field. Wolfe struck out the next batter. The fourth batter hit a fly ball to Nagle in center but it was caught to end the top of the third inning. Bailey Dorson was the first batter for the Lady Cards. Dorson was hit by a pitch. Wolfe followed with an inside the park homerun to center field. Nagle then hit a fly ball to center field but it was caught. Kershner hit a single up the middle. Then Schaeffer struck out. Maura Lehman then hit a inside the park homerun to center field. Stine then hit a fly out to right field. Turner followed by grounding out to the shortstop. Lady Cards extends their lead to 14-1 over Lourdes.

To start the fourth inning, the alludes batter had popped out to Rittenbaugh at short. The next batter grounded out to Stine at third base. Wolfe then walked the next batter. Followed by a hit to left field, putting runners on first and second. The next batter hit a double to right field scoring one. Wolfe then struck out the next batter to end the top of the inning. Rittenbaugh was the first batter for the Lady Cards. Rittenbaugh grounded out to second base. Dorson popped to the first baseman. Wolfe also popped out to the shortstop to end the inning. The Lady Cards still leading 14-1 over Lourdes. The Lady Cards changed pitchers from Wolfe to Skye Herring. Herring stuck out the first batter. The next batter grounded out to Rittenbaugh at short. The third batter got a hit to left field for a single. The last batter hit a line drive to Herring to end the game. The Lady Cards defeated Lourdes 14-1 to continue their win streak. “I never thought we would be this good to continue winning every game and it gives me the confidence to keep performing at my best,” said senior, Trisha Kopinetz.
