The PGAHS presents a “Night Under The Stars” Prom 2021.

This year’s prom will be a little different than normally planned. Ms Bux, The Prom Committee, and a few other clubs have been planning this special event for a few weeks now. This year’s prom will be held outside on the football field under the lights.  The Prom Committee and all the clubs helping to plan the event have rented a huge tent to put on the football field. The date of prom will be April 24th, with a rain date of April 23rd.

This year, they have decided  not to have dancing but instead have games where attendees can play trivia, and participate in a bunch of other activities  as well as win big prizes. “I’m glad they are still having something even though it’s gonna be different,” says Macie Brown, a junior on the Prom Committee, “I think it will still be fun.”

The cost to get in will be $25, and attendees  will be allowed to bring guests like every other year. “I think it’s going to be a little different but really special and memorable,” says Ms. Bux, the advisor of the Prom Committee and an art teacher. The Prom Committee is going to use the same decor, tables and chairs as they would at the original Prom. Another different thing the committee  is doing this year is having all the seniors send in pictures from their kindergarten to senior year and then the attendees will watch it at the event. This has never been done in previous years.

A lot of other things are up in the air currently due to Covid restrictions. “Unfortunately, because of certain circumstances that the district is under due to Covid-19, we can’t do a traditional prom,” says Mr. Janicelli, PGA High School Principal, “but there is a part of us that is excited. This has forced us to do something different but we are just not sure what that ‘different’ is right now between Ms. Bux and I and everyone else in the district. We are doing our best to come up with cool and creative ideas. It forces us to be creative with it.” event.
