May 2021 Senior of the Month, Dominic Schillaci.

McKenna Valentine, Staffer

Each Senior of the Month was asked 10 questions…

1.How do you feel about being a senior?

-I feel personally it is a huge accomplishment for being a senior due to being in school for a total of 13 years and its much more rewarding this year with the pandemic in play.

2.How do you feel about last year being hybrid?

-If you are talking in regards to this school year in the beginning of the year of all students going hybrid I would have to say that it was much more stress relieving at first as it gave me (including several other students) time to get the rest I needed and also a lot of time to complete homework.

3.How do you feel about being senior of the month?

-If you would like my honest opinion, I would have to say that I was shocked to be called down to be informed of being Senior of the Month. it was a huge accomplishment that i never legit thought i would  ever receive.

4.Favorite and least favorite thing about being a senior during Covid?

-I hated the whole school year in general, the way things were with this social distancing and wearing my mask completely killed my mood. Especially not being able to have all activities that in a normal school year would have. But more specifically, I guess I could say that my favorite thing during the year was football season and prom, also free lunch. But, other than that I can’t say a whole lot that was good.

5.What do you want to do after you graduate?

-I recently enlisted inside the United States Marine Corps with my job (or MOS (Military occupation specialty) ) being in the avionics field.

6.What piece of advice would you give to underclassmen?

-Don’t do drugs, or do anything stupid, also this is a place to learn, not a daycare. Don’t act like idiots and do something useful with your life.

7.If you play sports or do any other activities how were they affected with covid?

-I played football and it was frustrating because we kept getting delayed, also didn’t have the same amount of a crowd we had before and away games sucked because it was too quiet on our side. Plus the mask deal sucked as well.

8.Best memory from senior year so far?

 -Football season and Prom.

9.Favorite thing to do outside of school?

-I’m a no life. I don’t do much when I’m out of school, I only go out and hang out with friends and all we do is hit the gym.

10.Who is someone you look up to?

-My Uncle Ryan is the person I look up to, he has been there to lead me into the direction I am going and is the one that convinced me and supported me to join in the marines as he is one himself.
