“Student Council is going to do amazing things this year! We have a lot planned for the Semi-Formal and I am so excited to see what we come up with for the rest of the school year,” said Gabby Brown, President of PGA Student Council. At the beginning of the school year, high school students were given the opportunity to sign up for student council and help with the events that make high school memories. The Pine Grove Area Student Council truly gets excited about what they do because they love to get involved and have school spirit in order to make  high school years unforgettable.

The students meet together every Monday morning to talk about what they need to be doing to plan for the first event, The Semi-Formal.  Each Student Council member is required to sign up for at least one activity to help with everything such as: planning and coming up with ideas and themes, selling tickets at lunches, decorating the day before the dance, and going through supply cabinets. Some even signed up for multiple events to really get involved. “So far with just the planning of Semi, there’s been a lot of enthusiasm and commitment from the students so I am looking forward to what we do this year” says co-advisor, Ms. Bux.

“Something new that we’ve been talking about is putting together an appreciation breakfast for first responders in the Spring” says co-advisor, Ms. Breiner. Every year Student Council does a breakfast for Grandparents Day. Every high school student is encouraged by Student Council to invite their grandparents into the cafeteria for a breakfast hosted by the Student Council. The students also does a Faculty Appreciation Breakfast. Student Council also puts together a Toys for Tots Collection, during Christmas time.
