Homecoming Weekend  kicked off Friday afternoon. Students enjoyed a half-day of classes, with the rest of the day being filled with fun outdoor activities. Activities included a powder-puff football game, volleyball, and cornhole tournaments. Additionally, there was a Mario Kart tournament and a movie played in the A-wing of the high school. Later on, students gathered in Cardinal Stadium for the Homecoming King selection.

Mr. Gibson, who ran the Homecoming King selection, said, “It was great to see all the smiles and all the school spirit after not being able to for so long.” Students sat in the bleachers of Cardinal Stadium for the Homecoming King selection. “After more than a year, it was a great feeling to hear the crowd cheering on the King contestants,” said Mr. Jannicelli, principal, “It really gave us a sense of normalcy.” Toby Herring, Senior, JROTC Cardinal Battalion Commander, and Homecoming King winner, said “It was very exhilarating, and I did not expect it. When I opened the box, I pulled the paper out, and I looked down, I saw the shash, and I thought I didn’t win because it was supposed to be red. But when I found out I won, It was very calming. It felt like it was too good to be true.”
