Homecoming is back to the way it used to be in Pine Grove. That is for everyone except the defending District 11 Champs- the Lady Cardinal Volleyball team. Covid affected sports once again. The Lady Cards were set to play Shamokin who’s volleyball team was quarantined. The Lady Cards decided to still put on a show for its Homecoming crowd. The Cards were dressed up in costumes and played against one another.  Coach Kreitzer said, “ It (this event) allows them the opportunity to celebrate Homecoming while enjoying each other’s company and have a crowd to play in front of and play positions on the court they’re not familiar with. I’d say the most important thing is they still get to play volleyball during Homecoming.”

Megan Wolfe (sr., capt.)  said, “We were upset about losing our game because normally our game on Homecoming would be packed with fans. It was nice for family and friends to be able to come support us and just watch us have fun.” The Lady Cards were dressed up in costumes by their team, one group being Spongebob characters, one group being Willy Wonka, another being Tinker Bell, and the last being the Seven Dwarfs.

Karissa Morgan (sr., capt.) said, “It was really disappointing to not have a game but it was really nice to be able to get together with the team and have a fun time playing in front of our fans and parents on Homecoming.”
