7:30 Saturday morning the Cardinal Stadium opened up for the start of the Homecoming events with Cross Country leading the way.

Eve Kurtz, freshman, said, “It was a nice experience for my first senior high run.” Vlad DeBruyn, senior, said, “Well I was very nervous because I had set goals to place in the top ten, and everyone said I could. There was that pressure of not reaching my goals as I had so many people tell me that I could, but during the race it really came down to my mental will. In the end I placed because I had not PR’ed (personal record), but placed in the top ten.”  Mrs. Shelton, Cross Country Coach, said, “As a team we did not do well, but individually, some of our runners did well.”

The outcome of the event for Pine Grove Area Boys: 10th place- Vlad DeBruyn, 34th- Aidan Geist, 38th- Ashton Owens, 45th- Conen DeBruyn, 47th- Alex Dubbs, 54th- Trey Andersen. Girls:  26th place- Eve Kurtz, 32nd- Kaitlynn Warg. Many other schools and students were also in between. It was a tight race, as there were a lot of different runners speeding around the track and field in hopes of reaching their personal goals.
