The Squid Game is a 2021, nine episode series that you must watch. The starring cast of the series are two Korean actors. The main character Seong Gi-Hun played by Lee Jung-Jae is a nice man in a poor situation just trying to be able to provide for himself by playing in a series of murderous “games.” His friend from childhood Cho Sang-Woo played by Park Hae Soo plays almost as an antagonist as his only intention is to win the “game.” He seems not to care about his friend from childhood’s life and more about the millions of dollars.

Four-hundred and fifty-six people are competing for a prize pool. A hundred million Won a Korean currency is placed into a prize pool for someone to win after someone is “eliminated.” The Squid Game was a set of six Korean childhood games where if you failed you were “eliminated.” The eliminated people are no longer able to win the prize pool and are done playing in the game. If you are able to survive the six games you will split the prize pool with whoever else is left.

My opinion on the series is that it is a very good series. I like the suspense it builds up. It likes to play with your heart strings a little bit when you get later into the film. The film is overall very well detailed with perfect music introductions and great cinematics. People like to argue whether to watch it in English or Korean but I would say it doesn’t matter either way because the series is just that well put together. I would rate this series a 9/10.
