The Irony of Black Friday

Black Friday is the day of sales, you never know how much you are going to save.

Black Friday is known as a day of sales and extreme savings where most people buy gifts for the upcoming holidays. The irony is that everyone does this extreme shopping the day after Thanksgiving. Sometimes people even leave their family gatherings to start their shopping on Thanksgiving night.

People spend their whole day on Thursday coming together with their families to celebrate everything they are thankful for and then not even 24 hours later everyone is rushing stores to buy as much as they can and sometimes even buying more than they can afford. The worst part is during Black Friday people can become hostile and even violent towards each other.

I believe that it would make more sense to change Black Friday to the first Friday in December. This would give some time after Thanksgiving and will put it a little closer to Christmas. Also,  I think the sales for Black Friday should be extended all weekend including Cyber Monday. I think this will help reduce the amount of people rushing the stores at the same time and that might limit altercations between shoppers.
