In February 13th, The Cincinnati Bengals met the Los Angeles Rams at their home stadium for the biggest NFL game of the year. A matchup between two completely different teams. One team was expected to make the Super Bowl and the other was expected to have a 5 win season, 6 if they were lucky. However there was no luck in their season. There was grit and determination and a will to win. It wasn’t enough though, as the Los Angeles Rams walked away with Super Bowl LXI rings around their fingers.

After the coin toss and the Rams received the ball, the game started as a little bit of a defensive battle, as both teams’ opening drive resulted in a punt. That wouldn’t last long, with Odell Bechman Jr. scoring the first touchdown of the game and taking the 7-0 lead. The Bengals wouldn’t be held scoreless for long, but settled for a field goal to reduce the Rams lead to just 4. With a successful outcome on their previous drive, they were looking to pile onto the Bengals, and another big touchdown they scored, but missing the extra point. Now at 13-3, the Bengals needed something, and something they got. A trick play with their halfback Joe Mixon resulted in a touchdown right before half time, leaving the score at 13-10 Rams.

The Bengals started extremely hot right out of the gate. Tee Higgins scored a 75 yard touchdown on the first play out of halftime, on a missed controversial offensive pass interference call.  13-17 Bengals. After a few drives of great defense from both teams the Bengals managed to score again, but just a field goal kicked by Evan McPherson. The Rams were down 20-13, just a 7 point deficit. However they hadn’t scored in a few drives and the Bengals had 10 unanswered points. Now began the Rams great hurrah. From this point onwards the Rams would dominate the game. With a field goal and a Cooper Kupp touchdown, Matt Stafford led the Los Angeles Rams to a Championship victory.
