Lindsey Wolff, junior, said, “I knew we had to win that game because we took a hard loss to them at their place in overtime.” 

Pine Grove Area Girls Basketball team hosted a game against the Lehighton Girls team. The Lady Cards first battle against Indians resulted in a Lehighton win. The Cards were looking to turn this around though after they took a commanding 19-10 lead in the first quarter. 

In the second quarter, the Indians battled back and cut the lead to 6. The final score at the half was 27-21. The Cardinals were in foul trouble which was a contribution to the Indians’ run before the end of the half.

In the third quarter, the Indians continued to battle and cut the lead by another point. The score at the end of the third was 37-32 with the Cards still in the lead. In the fourth quarter,  the Indians did not go away; they continued to keep the game close. With 5:40 left in the fourth the Cards only had a 4 point lead. The Cards held that lead and added some more with some late foul shots making the final score 51-44 with the Cards taking the win. After the game, Bailey Dorson, senior, saids “I was glad that we won. We owed them one. It was a big win to help us make Districts.”
