On January 25, Mikaili Donmoyer, senior, hit 1000 points. Before the game on Tuesday, she needed 17 points. There was a lot of anticipation leading up to this game that she would hit 1000. Jacob Strubhaur, senior, said “It was a cool experience to see one of my classmates hit 1000 points.” 

In the first half of the game she had 14 points. All she needed to do in the second half of the game was score 3 points.

When the girls came out of the half they started off hot with Donmoyer hitting a quick and one layup. All she had to do was make the free throw and she had 1000 points.The gym was filled with excitement after she made the free throw. Officials paused the game after she made her free throw to congratulate Donmoyer and give her the 1000 point ball.

Donmoyer said “I was relieved, it was like a big weight was lifted off of me and I could go back to playing and having fun.” 

The Lady Cardinals went on to win the game and beat Pottsville with a score of 47-45.
