September 2022 Senior of the Month, Katie Herring.

Haydn Williams, Staffer

1.How do you feel about being a senior?

-It still hasn’t quite processed that this is the last couple months I get with my classmates. I think we are all trying to enjoy every second before it’s over. I’m excited to see where we all go, and I hope for the best for everyone.

2.How do you feel about being Senior of the Month?

-It’s such an honor to be recognized by my teachers. It sometimes feels like the tiny thing goes unnoticed, but it’s so wonderful to be acknowledged for all of my achievements and hard work in school.

3.What do you want to do after you graduate?

-After I graduate, I would like to get my masters degree in speech pathology and work in a school with kids!

4.What piece of advice would you give to underclassmen?

-The most valuable advice I could give to the underclassmen is to never ever take a moment for granted. Tomorrow is never promised, and it’s so important to be grateful for the people around you and the time you get with them. Time can go by so quickly, and it’s crucial to appreciate everything you have.

5.Best memory of senior year so far?

-My best memory of senior year so far is winning homecoming queen! It truly felt like a movie when I held the slip in the air and heard everyone cheering. It’s hard to remember certain details before that happened because I was so nervous about the outcome. Luckily, I chose the right box, and I’m so proud of all the other people that were on the homecoming court.

6.Favorite thing to do outside of school?

-My favorite thing to do outside of school is cheer. The girls are all so incredible and they can always make my day. It’s never a chore to go to practices or games, we are always laughing and they are my second family.

7.Who is someone you look up to?

-I look up to my coach Denise. She has been someone I can approach about anything and I know with 100% certainty she will be there to support me and help me with anything I need. She is incredibly hard working and has done so much for our squad for years. I’m so grateful that I’ve been given the opportunity to meet such an incredible woman. She is truly someone I aspire to be and I hope I can make her proud.
