“I chose to teach because it sounded interesting and it is something that I have never done before. I like the students so far,” said LTC Farson.

Lieutenant Colonel Farson is the new teacher for the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (JROTC). This program is a military program that teaches high schoolers about leadership and how to be better citizens. Before starting at Pine Grove Area, Lieutenant Colonel Farson had a 33 year long military career. He has served in countries such as Germany and Afghanistan, with his favorite being Lituania. Although teaching was not something he was familiar with, Colonel Farson was up to the challenge.

“I want to inspire students and help them develop their potential leadership,” said Farson.

Lieutenant Colonel Farson’s career has had a big impact on his life.

“My career has helped me grow as a person. I was able to learn about myself, capabilities, and interests. I also had a lot of opportunities and was able to meet new people.” said Farson.
