Mr. Mack has been teaching at Pine Grove Area for 28 years. Mack started teaching in the Middle School as the Woodshop teacher and once Tom Williams retired as the high school Woodshop teacher, Mr. Mack transferred to the high school.

“I like helping students to take an idea and develop it from rough materials into a beautiful piece of furniture,” says Mack. For advanced students, they enjoy being in his class. Brady Betz, senior, says, “He is a very helpful guy!” “It’s a great class to be in,” says Ashton Low, senior. Brad Anderson, senior said, “Mack is always there to help us if we come across a challenge we don’t know how to face.”

Mr. Mack states, “I still enjoy my time teaching, so I do not have a set retirement time. I certainly hope to be teaching for another 5-10 years.” Mr. Mack really enjoys teaching in this class because of the hands-on experience with wood and machines due to involving a lot of problem solving.

“I cannot name one as all of my former and present students are my favorite. I enjoy witnessing their success in the classroom as well as their adult life beyond high school,” says Mack

Anderson, who placed 1st in 2022 WoodShop Projects states, “It was a very fun class where we got to learn a lot by working with our hands. Mr. Mack helps figure out measurements, build parts, and assemble things with you if it’s needed.”
