Halloween is a widely celebrated holiday that consists of dressing up and receiving candy. Schools and other places usually celebrate halloween also, but how does that differ compared to overall trick-or-treating? There’s many differences between school halloween and regular halloween. For example, one difference is that schools allow students to wear their costumes on a certain day, but don’t allow them to wear masks or bring in fake weapons which is understandable. Masks would make it hard for teachers and students to identify you and fake weapons could trick a teacher into thinking a student has an actual weapon, which could result in a serious misunderstanding. Some teachers in school also give small amounts of candy to their students. That usually depends on if the student’s in elementary, middle, or high school.

While trick or treating occurs out of school in the communities of Pine Grove Area. People dress up, with the ability to have masks and fake weapons. Then, they go around knocking on peoples’ doors yelling “Trick or Treat!” to get candy or hang out with friends. Trick or treating out of school is much more fun and enjoyable since someone with a costume that includes a mask can actually wear it out of school. Also, schools sometimes have Halloween activities for students to do to enjoy their Halloween. But overall, out of school Halloween is better and more enjoyable than in-school Halloween.
