December 13th, 2022 Argentina faced Croatia in the semi-final of the 2022 World Cup. Both Argentina and Croatia are tough teams with equal talent, both fighting to advance to the World Cup Final. Argentina was favored to win this tough matchup, which they did. Underdog Croatia couldn’t manage to find rhythm in this entire game.

The matchup started off well for Argentina, with Lionel Messi scoring a penalty kick in the 34th minute to give Argentina a 1-0 lead. Shortly after the penalty kick, Argentina struck again in the 39th minute with a Julian Alvarez goal. Argentina then had a 2-0 lead while Croatia still struggled to get a goal. Even though Croatia had possession 61% of the game, they still couldn’t manage to find a rhythm and cut Argentina’s lead. After halftime, Argentina’s Julian Alvarez scored his second goal of the game shortly after in the 69th minute, giving Argentina a comfortable 3-0 lead.

Alvarez’s goal in the 69th minute turned out to be the last of the match, meaning Argentina is going to be in the 2022 World Cup Final. They’ll be facing the defending World Cup Champs, France. France is favored to win the World Cup even with Argentina looking like one of the scariest teams to play against.
