Disney’s newest movie “Strange World” has been a hit in theaters and on Disney+ since its premiere on November 23. “Strange World” has brought $73.2 million in box office sales so far.

“Strange World” is an hour and forty two minute movie that follows a family of explorers, the Clades. Jaeger Clade (Dennis Quaid) abandons his fearful son, Searcher Clade (Jake Gyllenhaal), to explore what is beyond the mountains of Avalonia. 25 years later, Searcher Clade is a successful farmer of Pando, a plant energy source, and is considered Avalonia’s hero. Searcher’s life is now all about growing Pando and his family. He lives with his wife Meridian (Gabrielle Union), his son Ethan (Jaboukie Young-White), and Legend, the family dog. Suddenly, Pando is dying around Avalonia and their leader, Callisto (Lucy Liu), asks Searcher to help her find out why. The Clades and Callisto go into a world underneath their own to find the main reason that Pando is dying. While on their adventure, the Clades’s stumble upon Jaeger. Searcher and Jaeger do not agree on many things but they put their differences aside to save Pando. The rest of their journey consists of fighting creatures and attempting to save Pando.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie and loved the animation. I usually don’t like animated movies but this is one that I did enjoy. The animation was colorful and detailed, especially in the world beneath Avalonia. I would give this movie 4 out of 5 stars. The only reason I gave scored it not a 5 out of 5 is because I got a little bored in the middle of the film but then it picked back up.
