The Sadie Hawkins dance was brought back for 2023. The dance was held by student council and was back for the first time since COVID-19.

Student Council recently hosted their Sadie’s Hawkins Dance since Covid. Student Council is responsible for hosting the dance in the high school cafeteria. The Student Council spent the day before making decorations and setting up for the dance. Many members made paper heart decorations and made a photo backdrop.

“Setting up took a long time but it was worth it. The cafeteria looked like a completely different space when the lights were turned off and the decorations were hung, ” says Taylor Wright, junior.

The dance lasted from 6-8 pm. Music and heart pictures were displayed on the TVs. Snacks and drinks were also sold for additional cost. Many students matched the Valentine’s Day theme of the dance by wearing pink and red. Reflections from the lights and streamers filled the cafeteria with pink color. Students spent the time dancing and taking photos at the backdrop.

Although only around 50 students went, students still had a fun time. “It was a chill dance but it was still super fun. There weren’t a lot of people there but those who were still had a good time,” says Ella Fasnacht, junior.

The dance was filled with singing, dancing, and good times.

“It was a good night of dancing for all who wanted to have a good time with their friends,” said Renee Hughes, advisor of Student Council.
