Taking a Trip to Steel City

Last Friday, members of the Travel Club took a trip to Steel City. Students spent the whole day in the city visiting various different places. The first stop of the day was The Pittsburgh Zoo/Aquarium. The Zoo featured animals such as, Flamingos, Elephants, Monkeys, Zebras, as well as many others. The Zoo itself wasn’t totally open due to the continuous cold weather. A variety of fish and other animals could be found at the Aquarium. Inside the aquarium were also penguins, a huge favorite amongst visitors.

The second stop of the day was Acrisure Stadium, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers as well as the Pitt Panthers. Students received a tour of the Stadium while learning about the history of the Pittsburgh Steelers, players, and some fun facts. After this, students visited both the Steelers and Panthers gift shops.

The final stop of the day was a visit to The Flight 93 Memorial. Students could see “The Wall of Names”, which consists of forty inscribed marble panels. Each panel contains an inscription of one of the passengers or crew members of Flight 93. The black walkway was a portion of the flight path of Flight 93.
