Just in time for a new school year, Pine Grove Area School District has rolled out a new Student Information System (SIS), Alma, in place of their long-term SIS, Sapphire.
“So far the rollout has been nice. Alma’s tech team has been extremely helpful. Parent and student portals have already been initiated, and the integration with our other systems has worked well so far,” Todd Lengle, Tech Director, stated.
Lengle explained that the switch from Sapphire to Alma was, “An obvious choice. Alma is much more user friendly than Sapphire, and their tech team is excellent as they continue to help support us on a daily basis.”
According to Lengle, while some people are struggling with the change, the majority of the feedback on the program was positive. He believes that the program is here to stick around for a while, so the school population will have time to adapt to this SIS, and hopefully come to accept the change.
From GetAlma.com, Alma claims that the platform, “…Improves school operations, fosters better student outcomes, and creates the greatest generation of educators, so they can create the greatest generation of students.”
