The Pittsburgh Steelers faced off against the Las Vegas Raiders in Vegas at Allegiant Stadium. Both teams come into this game at the record 1-1. The Steelers started off the game and they came out really flat; they got a three and out on their first drive. They punt the ball away to the Raiders. Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, is leading the Raiders offense. This drive you can see that the Raiders are going to target Davante Adams, WR, this whole game. For the first TD of the game it was 4th and 1 in Steelers territory. They run a play action pass and it goes to Adams for a TD. The Steelers come out on their next drive looking the same way. Then on a 3rd down the Steelers QB, Kenny Pickett, throws a deep ball to this WR, Calvin Austin III, for a really deep TD in the first quarter. To end the first quarter the score is 7-7.
The second quarter was really uneventful and the Steelers got a field goal early into the quarter and the score was 10-7. The Steelers defense started to pick it up and they didn’t let up any points in the Second Quarter. Neither team really got a good run game going in this game. Towards the end of the second quarter the Steelers got another field goal and they went up 13-7 going into halftime. The Steelers got an early stop coming out of halftime and kicked another field goal and it was 16-7 Steelers were up. The next scoring play comes from the Steelers again. Where Pickett throws a TD to his TE, Pat Freiermuth that was 13 yards and the Steelers go up 23-7 at the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter the Raiders got themselves going but it was way too late. Their coach made a very controversial decision. Instead of going for it on fourth down he kicks the field goal. Usually it wouldn’t be but with the time left in the game it was risky. The Raiders defense gets a stop and they end up getting a 1 yard TD to Adams. They kicked it off to the Steelers who got a first down so the game was basically over. They then got a stop where they kick it to inside the Raiders 20 and to end the game off Garoppolo threw an interception to their CB, Levi Wallace for his second pick of the game.Pickett had 235 passing yards and 2 TDs, Leading rusher Najee Harris, RB, 65 yards, and George Pickens, WR, 75 yards. For the Raiders Garoppolo 324 passing yards 2 TDs and 3 interceptions. Josh Jacobs, RB, had 62 yds, and Adams had 172 yds and 2 TDs in this game.
