Linda Luppi, an exchange student from Italy, has come to Pennsylvania for her senior year. She wants to do as many activities as she can before returning to Italy. She hopes to be a basketball cheerleader, continuing cross country and more. In Italy she was a part of cross country, volleyball and swimming. She misses her family a bunch, but loves Pine Grove and can’t wait to keep meeting new people.
“Yes, I like Pine Grove. I like that there are a lot of people, there’s so much school spirit. I like them, they are very nice and welcoming,” says Luppi.
Luppi is definitely feeling welcomed and almost like at home. Luppi said that she ate spaghetti almost everyday in Italy, left school at 1:00 but had school on Saturday. Moving here is a big change for Luppi due to the differences in culture and school.
Luppi said, “ It was on my Mom’s birthday, everyone in my family was there and it made me really sad. I didn’t think that I realized that I’m in the opposite part of the world without my family or friends with me. I always wanted to come to America to see American high school and graduate my American year and doing my exchange year has made me excited since I was 10”.
