Fast Food vs. Restaurant

Tara Mease, Staffer

Everyone has experienced going to a fast food or a sit-down restaurant once in their life. In my opinion, fast-food restaurants for cheap, convenient meals. Where in a sit-down restaurant, I would have to wait longer for my food. However, I still prefer sit-down restaurants over fast-food restaurants.

There are many fast food restaurants throughout Schuylkill County. I think McDonald’s is easily the most popular fast-food chain in our county with how many locations it has. There food that they serve I think is easily made but can also be sickening. I do not really prefer fast-food restaurants because they can be unhealthy. To me they can be really greasy and not well put together, where they fall apart in our hands when you are trying to eat.

Sit-down restaurants are also abundant throughout the United States, but there are hardly any chain sit-down restaurants in Schuylkill County, which means you have to drive farther away. I usually go to Hamburg or Reading where I have options like Cracker Barrel, Texas Roadhouse, Applebee’s, and many more places to go eat. To me the sit-down restaurants give me more options to choose from than I would at a fast-food restaurant. Also sit-down restaurants are known for making meals you could see at home without the work of making it. With the more options I can choose from I have more healthier choices too.

In my opinion, sit-down restaurants are better than fast-food restaurants. Even though fast-food restaurants are cheaper and more convenient, they’re also not that healthy. Even if the wait for you food is longer and more expensive at a sit-down restaurant; I think the food is worth the wait.
