The First Time Album is made by The Kid Laroi & Includes features from d4vd, Future, & BabyDrill. The album consists of song genres that range from heartbreak, love, & rap. He demonstrates this greatness with the first song of the album being named, “Sorry.” This song has been something we’ve never seen before from Laroi, and it demonstrates how the rest of the Album is completely different from the rest of his work in the past. With 20 different tracks, Laroi shows his work to millions of different people across the world.
Some track highlights include, “Kids Are Growing Up,” which showcases genuine and powerful rap verses. He uses raw emotion making this song stand out from the rest of the others. Another example of this would be, “What Just Happened.” This song showcases the impact of drugs, anger, and alcohol. The vocal performance and music video makes it a standout masterpiece on the album. Lastly, another song that showcases emotion is, “Where Does Your Spirit Go.” This showcases emotional vocals and painfully honest lyrics that showcases a tribute to a lost long friend of his, Juice Wrld.
The First Time navigates the realism and realms of American hip-hop, showcasing his amazing skills and experimenting on some of the songs, making this album a one of a kind. He uses his raw emotion & powerful vocals. He reflects on fame, heartbreak, and challenges of being an adult. Some of my personal favorites from the album include, “Sorry, I Thought That I Needed You, Tear Me Apart, Deserve You, & What Went Wrong???.” With only being 20 years old, Laroi has a long way to go in the industry, with producing more songs to come in the future.
