Senior of the Month: Alera Aungst

1.How do you feel about being a senior?
-I’m glad high school is almost over and I’m excited for college.
2.How do you feel about last year being hybrid?
-I enjoyed the hybrid model because it helped prepare me for college and bettered my time management skills.
3.How do you feel about being senior of the month?
-Being senior of the month was an honor and I was proud my diligence was noticed.
4.Favorite and least favorite thing about being a senior during covid?
-My favorite thing about being a senior during covid is that it’s my last year and I won’t have to deal with this again next year. My least favorite thing about being a senior during covid is the complete lack of normalcy with everything
5.What do you want to do after you graduate?
-I want to go to college and have a successful career.
6.What piece of advice would you give to underclassmen?
-No matter how difficult things become there is always a way to turn it around.
7.If you play sports or do any other activities how were they affected with covid?
-At our first few volleyball games there were no spectators at all which was completely different from how it used to be, and after we could have spectators there was still a limit. During club volleyball we had to wear masks and could only have one spectator. Now for softball, we still have to wear a mask but at least the spectators aren’t as limited.
8.Best memory from senior year so far?
-My best memory senior year so far was winning the district championship for volleyball and going to states.
9.Favorite thing to do outside of school?
-My favorite thing to do outside of school is spend time with my family and friends.
10.Who is someone you look up to?
-I look up to my mom because she does absolutely everything for me. She works two jobs and never misses a game or event for me. She is the most selfless person I know and never expects anything in return.
