On Sunday, November 12th, the Packers and the Steelers faced off at Acrisure Field for a highly anticipated NFL matchup. The Steelers were coming into this game with a 5-3 record while the Packers had a 3-5 record, causing the Steelers to be the favorites. The game started out very well for the Steelers, with an early Najee Harris touchdown run to make the score 7-0 Steelers. About 5 minutes later in the game, the Packers answered back with a 8 yard touchdown pass from Jordan Love to Romeo Doubs. This tied the game 7-7 at the end of the 1st quarter. Right at the beginning of the 2nd quarter, Steelers’ running back Jaylen Warren scored a 16 yard rushing touchdown, as well as a 42 yard field goal from Chris Boswell. If the Packers wanted to stay in this game, they had to bounce back before halftime. They succeeded at doing that, with a 35 yard bomb of a pass from Jordan Love to Jayden Reed to make the score 17-13 after a missed extra point by Mason Crosby.
Shortly into the 3rd quarter, kicker Anders Carlson for the Packers scored 2 quick field goals, giving the Packers their first lead of the game at 17-19. That lead was short-lasted though, after a Chris Boswell field goal to allow the Steelers to retake the lead at 20-19. The 4th quarter was the lowest scoring of the day, with only a field goal being scored. That field goal was scored by none other than the Steelers. After extending their lead, the Packers had one chance to score. Deep into Pittsburgh territory, they had to score a touchdown on the final play of the game. Jordan Love dropped back to pass deep, threw to the middle area of the end zone, and it was intercepted! The Steelers won the game and went up to 6-3. The Steelers have looked like a constant threat to the league with Mike Tomlin as head coach, and look to remain a threat. While the Packers are still rebuilding their team with young stars, they may be Super Bowl contenders in a few seasons. Anything could happen.
