Cardinals Crushed the Indians

Starting off a Friday night game of football, the Pine Grove Cardinals played the Millersburg Indians.  Ayden Zerby kicks the team off with the first play on the night. After the first kick off, Nathan Minnich makes an interception and returns it for a touchdown making the score 6-0 in the first quarter with a Cardinal lead. Brody Robinson makes the stop against the Indians half way through the first quarter. The defense and the offense of Pine Grove worked well together to score another touchdown making the score 16-0, Cardinals leading. By the end of the first quarter, Pine Grove was leading 24-0. 

Starting off the second quarter, Minnich catches a pass down the field from Josh Leininger to score another touchdown for the Cardinals. Shea Morgan converts the two point conversion to make the score 32-0 with Pine Grove leading. Indians try to throw the ball to another player but Dakota Roessler makes an interception for Pine Grove. Riley Tobias makes the stop on the Indians player on fourth down. With 5 minutes left in the second quarter, Robinson scores Pine Grove another touchdown. With the defense making some really good plays, Morgan runs down the field getting closer and closer to the end zone. At the end of the second quarter, leading into halftime, Pine Grove was leading 46-0. 

Going into third quarter, Colin Luckenbill runs the ball to the 20 yard line getting the team closer to scoring another touchdown. Leininger scores Pine Grove yet another touchdown.  Following a defensive stop, Luckenbill scores another touchdown, while Morgan makes the two point conversion. The end of the third quarter the score was 61-0, with Pine Grove leading. Going into the last quarter the Indians get the ball back. The Cardinals make a defensive stop to get the ball back, Coach Gaffney calls a timeout to talk to his players about what play they are going to do next. Yesenosky tried to punt the ball but has a bad snap giving Millersburg good field position. Seth Stewart stops an Indian player from getting the first down. With one minute forty-four seconds left in the quarter, the Indians score a touchdown which makes the score 61-7 with Pine Grove Still leading. Cardinals won the game against the Indians with a score of 61-7.

  After talking to Sophomore, Aaron Crumrine, he gave me his opinion on how he felt about Friday nights game. “Well it was definitely a great game that we played’’ says Crumrine. Aaron Crumrine feels that the team played a very good game on friday night. “All around from our offense to our defense we just played amazing’’ Crumrine says.  After talking to senior Dalton Kintzel, I got his opinion on how he felt about Friday’s game against the Millersburg Indians. Kintzel says,”We played selfless and executed every play on both sides of the ball.” Pine Grove will play the Newport Buffalo next friday, September 6th in Newport.
