The Philadelphia 76ers won in the first round of the NBA Playoffs over the Brooklyn Nets. The 76ers play the Boston Celtics in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.

The Philadelphia 76ers who are the number three seed in the Eastern Conference faced off against the Sixth seeded Brooklyn Nets. The 76ers were heavy favorites coming into this series. In the first game of the series the Sixers started off the series the right way by getting the win 121-101. The Nets leading scorer of this game was Mikal Bridges, forward, he led the team with 30 points in game one. While on the other side the 76ers leading scorer was Joel Embiid, center, with 26 points but in game one for the 76ers it was a team effort and everyone did their point.

In game two it was a much more fun game to watch the 76ers by 12 the score was 96-84 and in this game Cameron Johnson, Nets, forward was the top scorer for the Nets and he was by far the best player for them this game, on the other hand Tyrese Maxey’s effort for the 76ers was to much for the Nets. Maxey had 33 points while shooting 6-13 from three which is great..
The start of game three wasn’t much different- the 76ers were up in the first half by 11. Then things started to change for the Nets and they went on a 35-18 run in the third quarter. Also while they went on that run James Harden, guard, 76ers got ejected after trying to do a move on offense and accidentally hit Royce O’neil. The 76ers started to make a run in the fourth quarter and started to make their comeback. Embiid and Maxey lead this run for the 76ers. Maxey came up big hitting a step back three with time closing in on them. Then Embiid came up with a huge block that helped the 76ers to seal the game.

In game four, it started differently from the other three games the Nets were leading the 76ers after the first quarter. Another downfall for the 76ers this game is that Joel Embiid was injured so they needed someone to step up. The second quarter was very low scoring but the Nets outscored them by one point. The Nets were leading the 76ers at half. The 76ers came out firing in quarter three by outscoring the Nets 26-15. The 76ers were led by Tobias Harris, forward, he scored 25 points and recorded 12 rebounds. The 76ers outscored the Nets 30-25 in the fourth quarter which ended up for the 76ers to end off the series and end up sweeping the Nets. Other than Harris everyone else on the team stepped up including the back-up center who started this game because Embiid was out Paul Reed, center. The 76ers completed the sweep and will face their rival the Boston Celtics in round two of the NBA playoffs.
